Quit Smoking Medications $

There are two non-nicotine-based medicines which are approved to support quitting tobacco. Bupropion (Wellbutrin or Zyban) and varenicline (Chantix) are pills which have been found to help reduce the withdrawal symptoms and can help reduce the urge to smoke. Varenicline is unique in that it blocks the receptors in the brain that make smoking enjoyable, so if you smoke again, you won’t feel the same effects as you did before the medicine.

Call your local health care provider to schedule an appointment and discuss which medicine is right for you.

These medicines require a prescription; thus your health care coverage will determine how much you pay for them.
