In partnership with the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), the Lincoln County Health Department strives to protect public drinking water to ensure that water supplies are safe and reliable sources of drinking water.
Public Water systems are regulated by DOH.
- Group A water systems are systems serving 15 or more service connections or 25 or more people and are regulated under WAC 246-290.
- Group B water systems are systems serving 2 to 14 service connections and are regulated under Lincoln County Group B Public Water System Ordinance 8.30
Individual wells are not currently regulated, but technical assistance can be obtained from the health department.
Lincoln County Health Department offers a number of services for water systems:
Monitor water quality data to assure system comply with requirements of the safe drinking water act.
Investigates complaints regarding water quality and quantity.
Provides technical assistance for public and private water systems regarding well location, well construction, well head protection, water quality, and well disinfection guidelines.
Conducts water system operational surveys and well site inspections..
Reviews application for Group B public water systems.
Provides state certified water bacteriological testing.

We carry water test kits that you can pick up at our office or give us a call and they can be mailed to you. (Postage fee in addition to the cost of test if mailed)
