The Lincoln County Clerk’s Office accepts filings by mail or in-person. Lincoln County may be a convenient option for you to file for Divorce or Legal Separation if you can answer “yes” to all of the following questions:
1) Do you (or your spouse) currently live in Washington State?
2) Do you and your spouse both agree to Lincoln County venue for your filing?
3) Do you and your spouse both agree to all terms of the divorce or legal separation (including, but not limited to, division of property/debts, custody schedule for the children, and child support)?
4) Will both you and your spouse sign the documents?
If you answered “no” to any of the questions listed above, and if you do NOT live in Lincoln County, then Lincoln County is likely not the proper county for you to file for divorce or legal separation. It is suggested that you contact the county clerk’s office in the county where you reside to obtain information on how to file for divorce or legal separation in that county.
If you answered “yes” to all of the questions listed above, Lincoln County may be a convenient option for you for your filing. We accept filings by mail or in-person. (Stay tuned for an eFiling option we hope will be available in the near future!)
