10:00-12:00 – The WRIA 53 Planning Unit will be meeting for its scheduled monthly meeting on Wednesday February 17th, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lincoln County Public Works Building, Davenport, Washington. The meeting will be held to conduct regularly scheduled watershed business. A presentation by the Lands Council entitled: The Beaver Solution: A Natural Water Storage Option for Eastern Washington.” The presentation will look at Eastern Washington’s water storage dilemma and propose a natural, innovative solution that would re-introduce beaver to build dams that will store and slowly release water to increase flows in the late summer. In addition, status updates from Lincoln County GIS department on the Groundwater Inventory Project and an update from the LCCD on Groundwater Monitoring Project will also be presented. Citizens and Landowners within the WRIA 53 boundaries are encouraged to attend. The meeting is open to the Public and anyone who has water resource management interests. Light refreshments will be served.
12:30-2:00 – The WRIA 43 Planning Unit will be meeting for its scheduled monthly meeting on Wednesday February 17th, 2010 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lincoln County Public Works Building, Davenport, Washington. The meeting will be held to conduct regularly scheduled watershed business. The primary objective at the meeting will be to finalize language within the proposed Shared Governance agreement the Planning Unit is developing with Ecology.
