WIC Annual Report

What is WIC?

WIC is the special supplemental nutrition  program for Women, Infants and Children.

WIC  improves health and nutrition status of pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under five. WIC provides health screening, nutrition education, nutrient-rich foods, breastfeeding support and referrals to other health and social services.

What WIC is NOT:

WIC is not a welfare program.

Who is eligible?

Pregnant Women **WIC no longer requires proof of pregnancy to sign up**
Breastfeeding Women
Women who have a baby less then six months old.
Infants and children up to five years old who:
                 * live in Lincoln County
                 * are at nutritional risk
                 * meet income qualifications

What are the benefits of being enrolled in the WIC program?

You get lots of good breastfeeding information and support.
You get nutritious foods at no cost.
You receive nutrition counseling for yourself and your children.
You save money. The extra money can be used to purchase other nutritious foods that WIC does not provide.
